Overview

A large, perennial succulent from central Mexico, closely related to Agaves and Yuccas. This monocarpic species forms a tall trunk with a crown of soft, pliable bluish-grey-green leaves that can reach up to 4 feet in length. The plant typically grows up to 12 to 16 feet tall, with a width of 4 to 6 feet. It produces a conical flower spike that can rise 12 to 25 feet above the foliage, bearing greenish-white flowers before dying and leaving behind numerous bulbils for propagation.
